CASTLETON, NY - Craig E. Wittman, 60, of Castleton, NY, and formerly of North Utica, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2016, at Albany Memorial Hospital.
Craig was born in Utica on June 1, 1956, a son of the late Charlotte (Cole) Wittman. He received his education locally and was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School, SUNY Delhi and SUNY College of Technology, Utica. Craig was united in marriage to Michele Creedon on June 25, 1988, in Clinton, NY. He was employed as a nursing home administrator at the Firemen's Home in Hudson, NY, then later with the Northeast Center for Rehab and Brain Injury in Lake Katrine, NY. Craig was a sports enthusiast with his favorite team being the San Francisco 49ers. The thing that was number one in Craig's life was his family.
Craig is survived by his beloved wife, Michele; their daughter, Emily Rose (Sweet Pea); his sister, Leslie Slocum, of Clinton; two half sisters, Shelly Betrus, of Utica, and Sheila Peterson, of Clinton; an uncle, Robert Wittman, of Utica; his beloved extended family of in-laws, nieces and nephews; and his canine companion, Merle the Magnificent.
Mr. Wittman's funeral will be held on Monday, August 15, 2016, at 9:30 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, New Hartford. Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday from 4-8.
