Denise D. Suits, 47, of Rome, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2009, at Rome Memorial Hospital, after a long illness, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on November 3, 1962, in Utica, a daughter of the late Gorman and Virginia Suits. She graduated from high school in Florida. Denise was employed with LaBellas Pancake House in Sylvan Beach for over 20 years. She loved Elvis Presley and enjoyed collecting his memorabilia. Denise cherished time spent with her grandchildren. Denise is survived by a son, Rick Suits and his girlfriend, Tammy Babcock; a daughter, Nicole Jewett; two grandchildren, Kirsten and Joseph, all of Rome; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Carl Suits, of Rome, William and Deanna Suits, and Gorman and Carol Suits, Jr., all of MA; special friends, Darlene and Arthur Mills, Bill McCaulley, and Dave Boots; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. at the Griffin-Aldridge & Gulla Funeral Home, 209 N. Washington St., Rome, (336-5700). Interment will be in Townsend Cemetery, Stittville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
