Dorothy Hyde Obituary

Dorothy "Anne" Johnson Hyde, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 14, 2014. Memorial service: 3 p.m. Thursday at Christ Chapel Bible Church, 3740 Birchman Ave. Memorials: Donations may be made to Christ Chapel Bible Church. Anne was born May 18, 1932, in Fort Worth. She graduated from Polytechnic High School and attended TCU and UTA. She lived in Fort Worth all of her life. Anne was an extraordinarily sweet, loving, generous and caring person who had a unique strength of purpose, courage, and devotion to the people she loved. Her life's desire was to be a devoted wife to her husband of 58 years and mother to her three children. She and her husband were members of Sagamore Hill Baptist Church for over 50 years before transferring their membership to Christ Chapel. Anne always worked in her church, teaching first grade children for a number of years. Later in life, she was a discussion leader in Bible Study Fellowship for many years. She was a member of the Spurs, a prayer group of 18 ladies, for 22 years. Her Utah Birthday Group was very important to her also. She worked in the Fort Worth Union Gospel Mission. Anne was the president of the Bridge & Art Sections of the Junior Woman's Club of Fort Worth, and the president of Aquarius Section of the Senior Woman's Club. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Woman's Club, and of the Texas Girls' Choir of Fort Worth. The family would like to thank Anne's devoted caregivers, Felipe Garcia, Aldo Aguirre, Margie McCoy, Paulette Landry, Maria Perez, and Andy Singleton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Hyde; her mother, Annie Laurie Johnson Abbott; and her father, Avis Johnson. Survivors: Daughter, Annie Laurie Hyde of Fort Worth; sons, Richard Ross Hyde and his wife, Debbie, and Robert Avis Hyde and his wife, Tiia; grandchildren, Rich, Rachel, Sarah Cate, Whitt and Lily, Petri and Sofia; brother, Avis Johnson and wife, Sandra, of Dallas; nephew, David Johnson and his wife, Mary (Ludie) and their children, Kirk and Jillian; cousin, Linda Rosser of Oklahoma City, and her son, Richard Rosser and family; and cousins, Sally Barron of Longview and Henrietta Covey of Colorado.

Anne Hyde was one of the most loving, giving, generous people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. My heart aches knowing I will never see her again. Beautiful was not enough to describe this woman; she was beautiful inside AND out. I will miss her more than words can describe.

Ross, Annie Laurie and Robbie:
As neighbors on Meadowbrook Dr, Robbie and Larry were playmates. Anne was such a good mom. Made a chocolate cake to take to PK when Robbie went with us once. Lovely lady, Velma and Sam Bogart

Dear Ross, Robbie and Annie Laurie,
I have so many wonderful memories of your mom. She was such a class act. An amazing wife, mother and friend. Never said anything negative about anyone or anything. I loved that about her. She was so very kind and just a beautiful person inside and out. We all were so lucky to have her in our lives.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

God Bless and love,
Suzanne

My sincerest condolences to all family and friends. I remember Anne as a youth many years ago through her children Robbie and Annie Laurie. I have always remembered her as a woman of kindness and grace - and what a beautiful smile. She had a presence that just made you feel genuinely welcome. I will always remember her fondly. My prayers are with you all.

Sincere condolences to Anne's family. Anne and her family lived just a couple of blocks from us on Meadowbrook Drive. So our family new Anne and Avis and her family and enjoyed them very much. Of course Anne and I both attended Tandy Elementary, Meadowbrook Jr. High and Poly together, just a year ahead of her. I do have fond remembrances of her throughout our school years. A real loss of a great lady.

My deepest and most sincere condolences for your loss. Ed and I have loved Anne, Richard, and all of you for a lifetime, and the world will be a little less warm and loving with Annie gone. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Lovingly, Gene Crow
