Eric J. Sokolowski, Sr., 67, of Utica, passed away July 30, 2015. He was born August 12, 1947, in Utica, NY, the son of Stanley T. and Julia R. Koziol Sokolowski. Eric was a graduate of Utica Free Academy, class of 1965. He married Sandra Rogers in Floyd, NY, in 1994. Mr. Sokolowski was a transition coordinator at the House of the Good Shepherd, retiring in 2014 after more than 40 years of service. Eric was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed camping, hunting, boating and fishing. He was a proud member of the International Association of Salmon Fishermen. He is survived by his wife, Sandra; two children, Lisa Litten and her husband, Quinten, of Santa Cruz, CA, and Eric Sokolowski and his wife, Jennifer, of Shelburne, VT; grandchildren, Quinten and Beckett Litten, and Julia and Eric Sokolowski; his sister, Linda Cavalier (wife of the late Anthony Cavalier), of Utica; nephew and Godson, A. Mark Cavalier; niece, Christina and husband, John Massoud; father-in-law, Stephen Rogers; and many additional loving family members, including his aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and in-laws. Funeral services will be Friday, 10:00 a.m., from Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, Forty Main St., Whitesboro, and 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated.
