Mr. Frank A. Campese, 58, a retired Utica Firefighter, died as a result of injuries sustained in a bicycling accident on Sunday, April 11, 2010. On December 8, 1989, Frank was joined in marriage to Theresa Caputo. They have enjoyed twenty-one loving years together. A gifted carpenter, Frank worked independently for his many loyal customers. He loved hiking and biking with his wife and his beloved dogs, who were like their kids. They also enjoyed garage sales and volunteering together for different organizations, especially with the Carmelite Nuns and Father David Sambor at the St. Joseph Nursing Home. He is survived by his beloved wife, Theresa; his step-son, Chad Albright, of Whitesboro; his parents, Louis and Betty; two sisters and a brother, Betty L. Campese, of Wilmington, NC, and Louis R. Campese and Karen A. Campese, both of Utica; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; his beloved dogs, Pine Cone, Samantha, Moose, Norway and Cedar; and their bird, Paulie the Bird Brain. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. There are no calling hours. The family will receive visitors prior to and at the conclusion of mass. Arrangements are with The Matt Funeral Home of Utica. Frank, you were my hero and you will be deeply missed by not only me but everybody who knew you. You were the wind beneath my wings. We just found out today about Frank. We are very very saddened by your loss and cannot put into words our feelings. We have known both you and Frank for only a short time with our numerous meetings at Sangertown Mall over the past few years. I am so sorry for your loss. I met the senior Frank Campese at the Pearl Harbor Survivors reunion years ago and that connection made me say a silent prayer in sadness for this young man who has lost his life in this tragic accident. The Campese family has given much to our nation and to our home town. May he rest in peace.

To Theresa and Frank's Family, I was very saddened when hearing of Frank's passing. There are few people that could compare with Frank.s generousity and good will. He was a pleasure to know and I will always cherish my friendship with him. He was talented, honorable and the salt of the earth. God Bless his soul and family. I will always remember Frank in a special good way, his personality, his loyality and honor to his co- workers on the UFD were a credit to his being. Frank was one on the good people, I will truly miss him.

I will miss Frank and the times we shared laughing, kidding each other and working together at the Census Bureau. I and others are deeply saddened and find it hard to believe we won't see him again. I offer my prayers to his family and friends. Leonard Martin
