Jacob D. Pinto 1997 - 2021
HOLLAND PATENT- Jacob D. Pinto, 23, passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by the love of his family on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at SUNY Upstate Medical University, Syracuse.
He was born on October 13, 1997, in New Hartford, a son of Donald and Deborah (Hoffman) Pinto, Jr. He was a 2016 graduate of Holland Patent High School. He continued his education at Clarkson University, Potsdam, where he was currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering.
During his summers and vacation time, Jacob worked as a waiter for the Horned Dorsett Restaurant, Leonardsville. He also worked for many restaurants in the Lake Placid area and Subway restaurants in the Utica area.
Jacob loved attending college at Clarkson University. He enjoyed everything about his college life. He was an adventurous person who enjoyed living on the edge. He was a very caring and compassionate person who cherished his relationships with his family and friends. He had a magnetic and gregarious personality; he loved people and people loved him. Being his friend was very easy. He had a way of always making people smile and feel happy. He will be sadly missed by his many family members and friends.
He was a member of St. Leo's & St. Ann's Catholic Church, Holland Patent. He also was a member of the O PI O Fraternity at Clarkson University.
He is survived by his mother, Deborah Pinto and her companion, Dale Brucker, of Barneveld; and his father, Donald Pinto, Jr. and his companion, Judy Killian, of Floyd. He leaves a sister, Jessica Pinto and her companion, Alex Clawson, of Utica. He leaves his maternal grandparents, Linda Hoffman, of Whitesboro and David and Helen Hoffman, of Holland Patent; his paternal grandmother, Delores Pinto, of Whitesboro. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Andrea and Chris Serach, of Rome, David and Jamie Pinto, of Albany and Lisa Pinto, of Utica; also many cousins and many very special friends. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Donald Pinto, Sr.
The family wishes to sincerely thank the staff of the Neurocritical Care Unit at Upstate Medical for their wonderful care and compassion.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Leos & St. Ann's Catholic Church, 7939 Elm St., Holland Patent, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Vincent Long. Interment will be private in the Holland Patent Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Dimbleby Funeral Homes, Inc., 40 Main St., Whitesboro. Facial masks must be worn and social distancing and contact tracing will be implemented.
