Joseph Carrock Obituary

Joseph George Carrock 1932 - 2018
UTICA - Mr. Joseph George Carrock, age 85, passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center with his loving family at his side.
Born in Utica on November 24, 1932, Joseph was the son of the late Ameen and Sarah (Haday) Carrock. He was a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School/Class of 1951. On September 3, 1956 he married the former Dolores Inserra with whom he shared 61 years in a union of love and loyalty.
At one time, Joe was employed by Sheidelman's as a Foreman. He was a dedicated and conscientious worker, and a patriarch who took pride in providing for his family. In 1968 he accepted a position at Chanatry's Supermarket in the meat department and concurrently worked at both jobs until he retired from Chanatry's at the age of 83 after 46 years. Joe was a customer favorite and a delight among co-workers. He was a member of the Teamsters Local #182 and a die-hard Yankees fan. He worshipped at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church. Joseph's family will continue to be inspired by his strength and beautiful virtues, a legacy that will last for generations to come.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Dolores; his daughter, Kathy Carrock-Newman of Florida; his sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Joseph and Diana Carrock of Barneveld, Christopher and Rose Carrock of Texas, and Lou and Kimberly Carrock of Remsen. Always in his heart was the memory of his granddaughter, Dawn Kinsman Carrock who passed away on November 20, 1999. Surviving are his grandchildren, James Newman, Kayla Newman, Melanie Newman; Joey Carrock, Anthony Carrock; Dominic Carrock, Natalie and Jacob Shelly, Madelyn Carrock; Jonathan Carrock, and Rachel Carrock; great-granddaughter, Mavis Shelly; his brother, Fred E. Carrock; nieces, especially acknowledging Amy Carrock and her daughter Erica; nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and in-laws, Charles Hickel, Mary Carrock, Rita Rocco, Richard and Diane Inserra, and Anthony and Gloria Inserra. He was predeceased by his brothers, Raymond Carrock, and William Carrock; sister, Agnes R. Hickel; and sister-in-law, Theda Carrock.
In keeping with Joseph's wishes, there will be no public visitation. By family request, please omit floral offerings. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Joseph's funeral service and Celebration of Life which will commence on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church where his Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. Mark Kaminski. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of Mass.
