UTICA - Ms. Melissa Donlon, age 43, passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. At the time of her passing she was surrounded with the love and support of her cherished family.
She was born in Oneida, NY on March 6, 1975, a daughter of Charles Donlon and the late Deanna Welfel Donlon and was educated in local schools. Melissa was employed with the Wal-Mart Corp. in New Hartford. She was a parishioner of Historic Old St. John's Church. Melissa was a loving and devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, whose life centered around her family. She will be sadly missed, but will never be forgotten.
Surviving are her beloved father, Charles Donlon; her four beloved sons, Robert Luckina, III and Wendy, Tyler Luckina and Lavonna, Simon Donlon and Justin Donlon; her cherished grandson, Robert Luckina, IV; her dear brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry and Sara Donlon, Charles and Beth Donlon and Philip and Maria Donlon; her loving nieces and nephews, Jebadia, Isabella and (her two daughters, Rylee and Deanna), Quentin, Philip, Jr., Devin, Caitlin, Ashley, Miley, Kaleb and Charles, III; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved mother, Deanna Donlon; and her dear niece, Brianna Donlon.
Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 3-6 PM at The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home, Inc., 1122 Culver Ave. Funeral Services will be held at the conclusion of visitation at 6:00 PM at the funeral home with the Rev. John Buehler officiating. Interment will be, in the spring, in Greenlawn Cemetery, New Hartford.
