Patsy Alfano Obituary

Patsy George Alfano
Whitesboro, NY, N. Palm Beach, FL
Mr. Patsy G. Alfano, 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 30, 2009, with love and support of his family by his side, at the Eastern Star Home, Oriskany. Patsy was born on March 7, 1915, in Utica, NY, a son of the late Carmen and Angeline Del Grande Alfano. On April 14, 1934, Patsy married Alice Fitz Patrick, a blessed union of 61 years until her passing in 1995. In the late 30s Patsy belonged to the National Guard and worked at Savage Arms. He joined the Navy during World War II and was honorably discharged. Upon returning home, he went to work for Remington Arms where he retired in 1977. Patsy was a devoted husband and loving father to his two sons. He was a member of the Mohawk Valley Sports Car Club and loved to show off his sports cars or give anyone a ride anytime. Patsy and his wife Alice spent many happy winters in their condo in Florida, and he continued to do so after her death. Patsy is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Patrick E. and Mary Lou Alfano of Oriskany. He leaves his grandchildren, Richard and Kathleen Alfano of Rochester, Juli and Gregg Rahn of Sauquoit, Wende and Kevin OBrien of Cape Cod, MA, Patrick and Diane Alfano, Oriskany, and Robert E. Alfano, Oriskany. He leaves his great-grandchildren, Nicole Alfano, Callie and Schuyler OBrien, Brian and Daniel Rahn, and Evan and Elaine Alfano. He leaves a sister, Lillian Tomainio; a brother and sister-in-law, Carmen and Margaret Alfano; a brother-in-law, Robert and Cindy Fitz Patrick; a sister-in-law, Kathleen Pettinelli; a former daughter-in-law, Sonia Alfano; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Richard D. Alfano in 2000; and his sisters, Florence Pechone, Anne Thurston, Mary Hoagland, and Angeline Alfano. The family wants to sincerely thank each and every one at the Eastern Star for the love, compassion and support they have given Patsy and his family since the Star became his home. You are all so very special! Anyone wishing to donate in Patsys memory may do so to: The Angel of Hope (children with cancer), P.O. Box 983, Harwich, MA 02645; as Patsys great-grandchild, Schuyler has been diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma for the second time. Relatives and friends are invited to call Sunday from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, Forty Main Street, Whitesboro. Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Keep Dancing Pop Love Ya!
