Richard Naber Obituary

Richard David
Naber
RICHFIELD SPRINGS
Richard David Naber lost his struggle with the disease of addiction on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at the age of 27. Richard is no longer suffering or tortured and is at peace in heaven with his heavenly father. He was born on October 18, 1986, in Martin County Hospital in Stuart, FL, son of Richard Todd and Barbara L. Wagner Naber. A lifelong area resident, Richard was raised and educated in Richfield Springs, where he graduated with the class of 2004. He furthered his education at Finger Lakes Community College and Herkimer County Community College. Richard had a strong passion for music and was a talented drummer. He played drums with the Richfield Springs High School Band. He took great pride in playing Jazz Band, Concert and All County Bands while in high school. For the past several years, he worked as a waiter at the Otesaga Hotel in Cooperstown. It was a job that he truly enjoyed. To all who knew him, they will never forget his easy going nature and warm smile. He will be truly missed by his many friends and family. Surviving him are his parents, Richard T. and Barbara L. Naber; a sister, Katherine Grace Naber; his paternal grandparents, Richard C. Naber, of Candor, and Grace A. Palmer, of Richfield Springs; a nephew, Jayce Daniel Palmer; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Richard and Catherine Wagner. Calling hours for Richard will be on Saturday from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs. A Celebration of Life will follow the visiting hours at 4:00 p.m. As an alternative to flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to: Teen Challenge, PO Box 72, Syracuse, NY 13205. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
