Ronald Keno Obituary

Ronald A. Keno 1930 - 2021
MOHAWK - Ronald A. Keno, age 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 21, 2021.
Born on August 17, 1930, he was a lifelong area resident of Mohawk. He was educated in Mohawk and attended Syracuse University, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Art.
In 1952, he married the former Norma Sweet of Herkimer, with whom he had a loving devoted union of 49 years until her passing in Feburary 2001.
Dad was always in motion. He was a beloved high school Art Teacher in Herkimer for over 30 years. During the summer, he was a proud Union iron worker. Ronald and Norma were also year round antique dealers and known for their estate and house sales.
Ron was a car guy at heart. He bought, restored and drove many Marques from England, Italy and the USA. His three sons were fortunate to be able to drive a Jaguar to high school and college. Thank you Dad! He was a charter member #67 of the Auburn, Cord, Duesenberg Club started in the mid 1950's.
He will always be remembered for his storytelling, his big happy personality and his love of objects.
Surviving are his best friend, Dorothy Butler and their dog, Annie; his three sons, Mitchell (Kristin), Leslie (Emily), Leigh (Jasmin); and four grandchildren, Lisa, Ashley, Brandon and Schuyler.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 9:30 AM in Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer. Calling hours in the funeral home will be on Friday, June 25th from 4:00 - 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers please consider the Norma Keno Animals in Crisis Fund at the Herkimer County Humane Society or Hospice and Palliative Care. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Our deepest condolences from the Stasilli family, we all loved your father. He was a superb art teacher, a kindhearted man, and friend of our family. Some memories I have are cold winters when he used to give me and my brother Ralph a ride to school in his Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. We were so happy to catch that ride & get warm. My brother Jerry told me that Mr. Keno often came to our house with my sister Adele, and eat lunch with Mom (Pierina Stasilli) We were blessed to have known him, have him for a teacher and a friend. He was a very special man, and he will be missed. Rest In Peace Mr. Keno
