Sharon Olmstead Obituary

Sharon Ann Olmstead 1950 - 2021
UTICA - Sharon Ann Olmstead, age 70, passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the Katherine Lutheran Residential Health Care and Rehab Center, after living with breast cancer for many years.
She was born in Utica, to Lynda Olmstead and the late Dean Olmstead. Her proudest accomplishment was raising her daughter Emily Gravett and becoming a doting grandmother "Gram" to Esmene Gelani. She was also an especially devoted mom to her sweet cat Dahli.
Growing up, Sharon loved to ice skate and create beautiful art. She was a graduate of Whitesboro High School where she was an honor student. Later in life, she decided to complete college and graduated from SUNY Empire State. She instilled in her daughter a love of books and reading, starting at an early age, when they would read together every night before bed.
Sharon was a soul searcher. She loved learning, creating, and sharing her art with others. Her family is grateful to have her watercolor prints and decorative bird houses to remember her by. Her creativity stretched even to the kitchen, where she was always making up and trying new recipes.
Sharon is survived by her mother, daughter, and granddaughter as well as her twin brother, Steven Olmstead; her sister Suzanne and husband Andrew Morgan; her nieces and nephews Garrett and Stephanie Morgan, Ben and Nicole Morgan, Mackenzie Morgan and Tommy Harrington; and her adorable great nieces and nephews.
The family celebrated Sharon's life privately, with lots of good Utica food, desserts, and laughter. Condolences may be sent to Emily Gravett at 1226 Victorian Village Drive, Harrisonburg VA 22802.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave.

I just loved Sharon more than I can even express.
I was her Gracie and she was my Scarlett. I learned from her . She was strong and never complained . She didn´t show her fear and I tried to gravitate to her attitude.
She was one in a million . If she had a statement to make she could go rounds with the best of them .
She loved her family more than words can even describe. So many days I need to tell her something and I still do and I know she hears me . I´m hoping that she is still guiding me and I´ll always be praying for her .
