Travis Leitz Obituary

Travis T. Leitz
Frankfort
The best of a son, brother, cousin, nephew, fiance and friend Travis T. Leitz (also known as Hammer Head) passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 15, 2009. He was born on April 17, 1990, in Ilion, a son of John J. Leitz, Sr., and Crystal Rockhill, and received his education in Sauquoit schools. Travis worked for the family business, Leitz Trucking Corp., as a dedicated mechanic; a self-taught trade that his family knew he was well-suited for from a young age. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing video games. Travis was also an accomplished bowler, whose team, The Fireballs, took 3rd place out of 75 teams at the New York State USBC Youth Team Championship Tournament in Syracuse in 2007. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a ray of sunshine that brightened the lives of all those who knew and loved him and could often be heard using his favorite phrase: Youll have that. Travis and his fiance, Jillian Meeker, were excited about the arrival of their son, Travis Tylor Leitz, Jr., an event they were awaiting with much anticipation. Along with his fiance, Jillian, he is survived by his father, John J., Sr., and Sundy Leitz; his mother, Crystal Rockhill and Benny Garcia; his two loving brothers, John J. Travis also leaves behind a close family friend, Ron Porter, who he called Ronald McDonald; his feline companions, Emma and George; and one especially close friend, Steve Leone. He was predeceased by his paternal great-grandfather, John E. Leitz, Jr.; his paternal grandfather, John E. Leitz; and his maternal grandfather, James J. Rockhill, Sr. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 21, at 2:00 at the Smith Funeral Home, 3022 Oneida St., Sauquoit. Interment will be in Frankfort Hill Cemetery. To the Leitz's.....your family has been long time friends with my father, Brenda, Jay, Corey and I all played together as kids. This is so sad and tragic. I am praying that you have strength to get through this and always keep Travis in your hearts. There are no words that will make the hurt any better, be there for each other and be strong as your dad always was.He would want you all to pull together for this. Take care and God Bless.
