Burt Eldridge Obituary

WILLIAMSBURG - Burt S. Eldridge III, known as Stratton to his family, died on August 31, 2017, in the wonderful care of Hospice House of Williamsburg, Virginia. He was born on November 23, 1938, in Greensboro, NC, to Burt and Mildred Eldridge. Stratton went to Duke University on a full Angier B. Duke Scholarship and graduated in 1961 with a degree in Civil Engineering. After serving in the U.S. Air Force he earned a Masters of Business Administration from Harvard University. Stratton had resided in Williamsburg near his sister Sharon for the past ten years. He is survived by three loving sisters, Sharon Sams (Michael) from Williamsburg, VA, Dorrie Williams from Maggie Valley, NC, and Ginah Butler (Paul) of Maggie Valley, NC. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017 at WUMC at 1:00pm. Memorial Contributions may be made in Stratton's name to the Hospice House of Williamsburg. Condolences may be made online at www.bucktroutfuneralhome.net.

Mr. Stratton was an inspiration to me. We worked together for 5 years at Busch Gardens and he always had the best stories and fantastic advice. I often think of him and was devistated to find out just yesterday he had passed. Love you Mr. Stratton, God speed!
