Laura was so kind, fun and knowledgeable about oh so many things. Always a joy to be around. I always enjoyed talking about our shared interest in historic cookbooks. She is missed.

I worked with Laura in Evening Programs at Colonial Williamsburg. She was a kind, sweet lady and an expert historian ... she is gone much too soon. My condolences to Jim and the families. --Andrea W. Squires

Jim and Laura's family: my heart and prayers go out to all of you for God's strength as you mourn for Laura.
What an awesome woman she was!
I worked with her for over 15 years at Colonial Williamsburg. She was the epitome of what C.W. desired of its historic interpreters. She had an encyclopedic mind; she was one of the 'go-to' historic interpreters when one of her co-workers had a question about any aspect of colonial and/or 18th Century British history.
She was the consummate professional. When she was having a hard day (as we all did from time to time), she put on her professional demeanor and conducted her tour/interpretation as if that were the only thing on her mind and she had been looking forward to it the entire day!
Colonial Williamsburg has some outstanding historic interpreters, but Laura Noel McDonald will be sorely missed. I count myself fortunate to have been her friend and co-worker in the Historic Area.

To Laura's fabulous family and friends, I am heartbroken to hear the news of her passing. I worked at Colonial Williamsburg for 14 1/2 years and enjoyed working and socializing with her. Although I moved out of state 4+ years ago, my memories of her are bright and shining. She had a beautiful smile, lightning-fast wit, and had a way of making people feel extra special. She always had a mischievous twinkle in her eye and a kind word for everyone. We will miss you terribly, but Heaven has gained a new angel. Mix things up there in the heavens, Laura. With prayers of comfort and condolences, Paula Jeffery.
