My sympathies to Susan & family. I had the pleasure of knowing Bob because my husband Dell was also an attorney at Buchanan Ingersoll. We would also enjoy skiing, dining, and attending cultural events. He made my life better as I saw his spirit of compassion, congeniality, & sense of humor and common sense. He was easy going. So many memories of Bob will always be in my heart. My world has lost a special person.

My heartfelt condolences on Bob's passing. Bob was the epitome of how to deal with many of life's ups and downs with integrity, grace and dignity. His dedication to service - to his country, to the under-represented, to his family and his friends was consistently uplifting and inspiring. I learned to be a better person simply by being in his presence. I will never forget how kind and generous he was to Elizabeth, Deven, Noah and to me. One of my favorite memories of Bob is how he would take the time to take Deven (who loved trains when he was 7 or 8 years old ) with him on the trolley back and forth from Mt. Lebanon to downtown Pittsburgh sometimes making multiple trips on the same day. These simple gestures was what defined Bob. The world has lost a truly noble soul. RIP Bob!

We are heartsick to learn of Bob's passing. He and Susan were dear friends. I served under Bob's Chairmanship at ACHIEVA and learned so much from him. We traveled together to national conventions of The Arc of the US. So much fun and learning together. I regularly visited Andrew at his home on Arla in Mt. Lebanon. Doug, Andrew and Susan - I mourn for your loss. We occasionally meet and interact with a great person in our lives. Your father and husband was indeed a great man who will be remembered by all of us who had the opportunity to walk with him during his journey here on earth.

Bob was one of the finest men I have known. A thoughtful man with a wonderful sense of humor. I knew him as a fine lawyer, a reckless and enthusiastic skier, a mediocre but devoted golfer. He had a huge heart and went out of his way to treat people in a welcoming and courteous way. He was just fun to be with. Thank you, Bob for letting us be a part of your life.

So sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He was such a kind and generous man. I was honored to know him and Susan during his time on the Achieva and Achieva Family Trust Boards. His wisdom and advocacy for persons with disabilities made a difference in this world. He will be missed! Rest in peace, Bob. My Deepest Sympathy to Susan and the family, Maria Smith
