Cody Squires Obituary

Cody William Squires was born Sept. 20, 1989 in Pocahontas, Iowa; the only son to Chester and Sherry (Hawks) Squires. Cody grew up in the Pocahontas area until later on his family moved to Shenandoah. Cody's daughter, Zoey was born Nov. 16, 2011 in Shenandoah. He enjoyed spending time with Zoey, his nephew Isaac and Jacelyn Huntley. Cody treasured his family and friends and the time spent with them. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, drawing and listening to music.
Cody passed away on Sept. 26, 2012, in Omaha. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Mahlon, Jr. and Marie Squires; maternal grandparents William and Ruth Hawks; and several aunts and uncles.
Cody is survived by his parents Chester and Sherry Squires; sisters: Lacy Squires and fiancé Joe Moeller of Shenandoah, and Kayla Squires and significant other Austin Terry of Essex; daughter Zoey Michelle Ross and significant other Shelby Ross both of Prairie City; many aunts, uncles, nephew Isaac Baker, and a host of friends.
Funeral services for Cody were held Monday, Oct. 1, 2012 at Walker-Merrick Funeral Home with burial in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family.
Walker-Merrick Funeral Home provided arrangements.
