My sincere condolences to the Gentry family. I was in 5th grade in 1975 in San Benito when I met Dr. Gentry she and my Dad knew each other growing up in San Benito. My fondest memory of Dr. Gentry was her unwavering commitment to keep Dr. Cash´s front lawn green. She was more than a school book teacher, she was a teacher of life. With deepest sympathy, Cindy Amaya.

Dr. Gentry was a very caring person. In my first year as a teacher she helped me out so much. She showed me how to decorate beautiful bulletin boards and use all the necessary machines to run off tests. Computers were not used yet. I am glad I saw her much later and I was able to thank her for all her help.
