Elena Salinas Obituary
SEBASTIAN, TX.-Elena ``Chata'' Salinas, 87 died Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at her home surrounded by family.
She was born April 25, 1921 in Rio Hondo, Texas to Macedonio and Virginia Aguilar.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Benito Salinas, sister, Eulogia Adame, and three brothers, Mateo Gonzalez, Guadalupe Aguilar and Carlos Aguilar.
She is survived by her three sons, Simon (Estella) Salinas from Sebastian, Benito Salinas from Sterlington, LA and Juan (Anita) Salinas from Sebastian, four daughters, Victoria MacCallister from Sebastian, Oralia Salinas Cortez from Sebastian, Ramona Mata from Lyford and Lupita (Hector) Trevino from Altus, OK.
She is also survived by her brother George (Lupe) Gonzalez, from Austin, her sister Paula Aguilar also from Austin, 24 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 10 am to 9 pm on Friday February 6, 2009 at San Martin de of Tours in Sebastian, with a Rosary at 7 pm.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m on Saturday, February 7, 2009, at San Martin de of Tours 345 Martin Cavazos St., Sebastian, Texas 78550, with Father Rafael Vega officiating. Burial to follow at Guadalupe Cemetery.
Serving, as pallbearers will be Joe and Hector Salinas, Johnny Salinas, Api Cortez, Mike Jackman and Hector Trevino.
The family would like to thank everyone at Odyssey Health Care Hospice Program for their time and services especially Jean Conlin, RN and Phil Spears, social worker.
