Goldman Norman
RIO HONDO, TX - Goldman Norman, 83, of Rio Hondo went to be with his Lord July 1, 2005. He was born May 23, 1922 to Babe and Lottie Brooks Norman in Allardt, TN.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Egbert (killed while serving in the Navy during WWII) Arnold and Clifford.
Goldman is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nola Hull Norman; sons, Gary (Elaine) of San Antonio, Eben (Rosemarie) of Harlingen; very special nephew, Ernie Hull (Dorothy); grandchildren, Chris Norman (Emily) of San Antonio, Adria Sosnowski (Mike) of Omaha, NE, Katrina Norman of San Antonio, Erica Norman of San Antonio and Lisa Norman of Harlingen; 4 great grandchildren; sister, Delma Clayborn of Jamestown, TN; sister-in-law, Juliana Norman of Rio Hondo; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Goldman proudly served in the 1st Calvary Division during WWII in the Pacific. He married Nola Hull Norman of Shirley TN, August 21, 1946 in Rossville, Georgia and came to Rio Hondo where he retired from farming after 59 years.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 2, 2005 at the Thomae Chapel of 701 N. Bowie St. in San Benito from 1 until 9 p.m. with family members present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Graveside services will be held at Mont Meta Cemetery July 3, 2005 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Gene Horton officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by V.F.W. Pos#2410.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Henry Thomae Funeral Home.
Those desiring to do so may make memorial contributions to the Rio Hondo Baptist Church, P.O. Box 279, Rio Hondo, TX 78583.
The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Todd Shenkenberg for his kindness and dedication.
