Jose Leal Obituary
HARLINGEN, TX. --
Jose S. Leal Jr., 67, went home to be with the Lord in the morning June 12, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Sinton, TX October 13, 1946 to Jose Leal Sr. and Enriqueta S. Leal who precede him in death.
He is also preceded in death by his son, Chris Leal, brother, Victor Leal.
Joe was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed spending time with his family and making cookouts for family and friends. He also like to gamble and go to casinos. Jose served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged.
He leaves behind to cherish his wonderful memory his loving and devoted wife of 35 years, Luisa D. Leal, his children, Retta Garcia, Irma Hernandez, Joe Leal III, Elijio Leal and Jose Fidencio Gallardo, six grandchildren, Victor Garcia, Michael Hernandez, Briana Garcia, Serena Nicole Hernandez, EJ Leal, Marley Leal, one great-granddaughter, Rosalie Garcia, sister, Amelia (Aurelio) Martinez and four half brothers and sisters, Julie Steen, David Leal, Frank Leal and Billy Leal along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday June 15, 2014 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a prayer of the holy rosary to begin at 7:00 PM.
Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday June 16, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church.
Interment will follow to Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
Arrangements are under the direction of Trinity at Harrison Funeral Home, 1002 East Harrison Ave. Harlingen, Texas.
