Perla Lozano Obituary

Perla M. Lozano
HARLINGEN,TX. -
Perla M. Lozano "Pearl" passed away peacefully into God's kingdom surrounded by her family on the12th of July 2015. Pearl was born on the 19th of May 1945 in Brownsville, Texas to Dora and Gregorio Morales.
Albert Schweitzer once said, "Sometimes our light goes out, but is blown into flame by another human being." Pearl's light and spirit shined bright. She did not just stand on the sidelines, attending or teaching a program when it was convenient. Pearl went out to the people of her community and made a difference for her brothers and sisters with whom she shared this life.
She was a small business owner and community outreach worker who tirelessly contributed her time and a loving heart to her neighbors, friends, church, and those who simply sought out her help. Pearl volunteered with Help One Student To Succeed (H.O.S.T.S.), Girl Scouts, and the Parent Teacher Student Association at Harlingen High School and Harlingen South High School. She taught C.C.D. and counseled young couples about to marry. Pearl was active in her sorority, Theta Omega, and always looked forward to their annual Christmas Dance. Her most recent job was as a community outreach coordinator where she assisted people in need.
Close to home, she adored sitting on her patio and enjoying a cup of coffee with her husband, laughing with her daughters, or tending to her many plants and trees. She attended numerous ballet and piano recitals, and supported her family in every endeavor. Pearl's smile and bright eyes lit up a room, as did her sweet disposition. She was an adored wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend to all who loved her.
She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 44 years, Tomas R. Lozano; daughters, Tammy and Nadia; mother, Dora Shears Morales; her sisters, Rosie Lara, Herlinda Gonzales; Yolanda Villarreal; Sophie Escalante; Maridel Hernandez; Maria "Mimi" Marin; her brothers, Greg Morales, Jr., Alfonso Morales, Richard Morales, and Gregory Morales; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her beloved Cardigan Welsh Corgi, Dougie.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from twelve noon until seven o'clock in the evening on Wednesday, the 15th of July at the Rudy Garza Funeral Chapel. A recitation of the Holy Rosary is to commence at seven o'clock.
A Funeral Mass is to be offered at ten o'clock in the morning on Thursday, the 16th of July, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 209 South 10th St. in Harlingen, TX with interment to follow at Heavenly Grace Memorial Park.
In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions in Pearl's name may be directed to Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley or the American Red Cross.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rudy Garza Funeral Home in Harlingen.

My Darling sister my heart broke the day you left us. I know we will meet again one day. But for now there is not a day I don't think of you . Oh how I miss hearing your voice, laughter, and everything about you. We had so many plans that will remain undone. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let the perpetual light shine upon her. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Oh My Pearl...how very hard to say goodbye ... even knowing we will meet again. Oh Sweetest of Hearts...this is a terrible loss to us. How very blessed we were, never having met in person, and yet, we became great friends thru God's Holy Prayercast.

Sweetest, rest in the Joy of the lord, pray for us who are still fighting the good fight, to get where YOU ARE NOW. Know that You are still, and will always, be loved.

Loves You, Pearl....

Family:

Please accept my most heart-felt condolences on the passing of this wonderful person, Pearl. Please know that You are NOT suffering her loss, alone. We all gather in the love of Your hearts...to say this farewell until 'then'.

In the Heart of Jesus and Mary.

Sending our deepest sympathies to the Lozano family. As a young lady, Mrs. Lozano worked with my grandfather, Lupe Padilla. He always spoke very highly of her. Later, I came to know her as a kind woman and a loving mother to her daughters. Praying for peace and strength during this difficult time. You are in our thoughts. Hugs.
