Raul Cisneros Obituary

Raymondville - In Loving Memory of Raul R. "Coy" Cisneros

Raul R. "Coy" Cisneros Rios, a distinguished entrepreneur and cherished member of the Raymondville community, passed away on Thursday, January 18, in Houston, Texas surrounded by his children. He leaves behind a legacy marked by vision, determination, and a profound impact on the landscape of Raymondville, Texas.

Affectionately known as Coy, he ventured into the real estate business, becoming a prominent figure in the buying and selling of properties in Raymondville. His passion for development led to the creation of Cisneros Estates, a testament to his entrepreneurial spirit that will forever stand as a symbol of his contributions to the community.

Coy's ventures were not limited to traditional business; he once operated a fried pork skin factory, where the product, branded as "Cuchi Cuchi Go Go," became a beloved favorite among those who delighted in his father's cherished phrase. In later years, he explored the culinary world, introducing dried, shredded beef jerky (machacado), particularly popular among Hispanics for breakfast. His innovative spirit reflected a man who embraced change and sought to meet the diverse needs of those around him.

As a teenager, Coy displayed wisdom beyond his years, gravitating towards older and wiser individuals, especially businessmen. His love for storytelling endeared him to many, as he shared the rich tapestry of old stories accumulated over the years. Coy's charismatic personality, coupled with his penchant for jokes and pranks, left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.

He is lovingly remembered by his sons, Raul Alfonso Cisneros and Daniel Ruben (Lidia) Cisneros, and daughters Heidi Beatriz Cisneros and Lisa Cisneros. He is survived by his brother, Robert (Alicia) Cisneros, and sisters Rosalva (Juan) Gonzales and Ruby (Bruce) Casteel, and his grandson, Ruben Alexander Cisneros.

Pallbearers selected to carry Coy to his final resting place-Adrian Cervantes, Rene Gonzales, David Cisneros, Johnny Cisneros, Matthew Kovacevich, and Daniel Ochoa-serve as a testament to the impact he had on those around him, chosen for their connection to Coy and the respect they hold for him.

Coy is preceded in death by his father, Raul E. Cisneros, his mother, Consuelo Cisneros, his beloved wife, Beatriz Cisneros, his brother Rodolfo Cisneros, and sister Rebecca Jasso. He also mourned the loss of his sisters-in-law Loida Cisneros and Sandra Cisneros and nephews Edward Johnson and Robert Cisneros.

Despite the sorrow of those who knew and loved him, Coy's memory will endure through the stories shared, the ventures he undertook, and the relationships he nurtured throughout his lifetime.

A celebration of Coy's life will take place during services on Friday, January 26 at 7pm, and Saturday at 10am, January 27, in Raymondville at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. As we gather to bid farewell to a remarkable individual, may his soul find eternal peace. In the words of Coy himself, "Remember not to forget."

Memorial contributions can be made to help complete construction at Iglesia Metodista El Mesias de General Teran , MX, a church founded by his great grandparents, Miguel and Manuelita Rios and grandfather, Aurelio Rios. Checks can be made payable to Iglesia Metodista de MX and mailed to Raul Cisneros Memorial C.O Ruby Casteel 9931 Barefoot Way, Boerne, TX 78006.

When I was young, living in Raymondville I had the luck of knowing my friend, Coy. He was fun loving. He always had something funny to say and made me laugh. He loved making his land deals!
