Robert H. "Bob" Ramirez

Harlingen - Robert Henry Ramirez made his journey home December 8th into the arms of our glorious Father. His wife Julie always said, "Bob was not dying of cancer but rather living with it." He lived each day to the fullest until the last few weeks. He was struck with this horrible, unforgiving disease almost four years ago but never wavered to it. He is survived by his beloved wife Julie Ann Ramirez, who cared for him until the very end, his daughter Nikki Paxton (Bob), his son Jon Paul Ramirez, five grandchildren Isabella Renee Ramirez, Juliana Rae Ramirez, Camila Danae Ramirez, Julia Simone Paxton and Kairen Robert Ramirez, his brother Armando Ramirez (Sharon), his sister Sylvia Gilmore (William), his mother in law Juanita G. Guerra and numerous family members who loved him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Bertha Ramirez, and father in law Marcos Guerra. Bob was born and raised in Rio Hondo Texas. He worked for Federal Express for almost 28 years and happily retired to help care for his grandchildren. He enjoyed sitting in his backyard listening to oldies music, barbecuing and watching his grandchildren swim, laugh and play. He loved spending his summers at the island with his wife in their RV and he was a diehard Cowboys fan. When you think of Bob, remember him as this wonderful, funny guy who loved a good joke and loved telling them. He loved his family immensely and his greatest joy was his five grandchildren. He fought hard for his babies. We know they will carry the greatest memory of him because of the precious time he gave them. The familly would like to thank Dr. Nabeeb Sarhill and his staff at Texas Oncology, Dr. James Castillo and nurses from DHR and a special thank you to all his friends and family who traveled this journey with him and prayed without ceasing. Honorary pallbearers are Jon Paul Ramirez, Carl Little, Manny Salinas and Robert Paxton. Due to the current pandemic, the service will be private held under the direction of Rudy Garza Funeral Home.
