Rodolfo G. Cortez
SAN ANTONIO/
SAN BENITO-Rodolfo G. Cortez, 52, joined the angels in heaven on Friday, November 20, 2009 peacefully in San Antonio, TX where he resided for the last 10 years. Rudy as he was loving known by, was born on September 21, 1957 in San Benito, TX to Rogelio and Dolores Cortez Sr.
Rudy will always be remembered as a loving and caring man that was devoted to his family and dear friends and will never be forgotten. Rudy was a proud employee at Kohls' department store in San Antonio, TX at the time of his death. He was well known as having been a hard working man that took great pride in excelling in any and all positions he held at various companies over the years. Rudy graduated in 1976 from San Benito High School and earned a Bachelor's in Arts with a concentration in Business from Pan American University on December 18, 1983.
Rudy is survived by his loving parents Rogelio and Dolores Cortez Sr. He is also survived by brother Roger (Velma) Cortez, niece Valerie Cortez, and nephew Roger Anthony Cortez of Harlingen, TX; sister: Rosalinda (Gilbert) Sanchez; nephews Frank and Danny Skinner; and niece Michelle Skinner of San Benito, TX and brother Robert Cortez and niece Mia Sara Cortez of San Antonio, TX. Rudy is also survived by many other beloved uncles, aunts, cousins, and his dear friend Reynaldo.
Rudy was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Jose and Cecilia Garcia and paternal grandparents Epfanio and Refugia Cortez and a sister Mary Lou Cortez.
Visitation and services are pending under the direction of San Benito Funeral Home. Please call for further information (956) 361-9192.
Graveside services only will be held at San Benito City Cemetery, November 25, 2009 with the Pastor Joe Jaime officiating.

I want to extend my deepest sympathy for your loss. Rudy was so special to alot of people. I met Rudy about three years ago as a coworker at Kohls. He had such a great sense of humor always making us laugh! He talked with fondness of his family often! Rudy will be missed so much but never forgotten! I feel so lucky to have known him!
