Sherwood Koepp Obituary

Harlingen - Sherwood "Bud" H. Koepp, 86, passed away at Retama Manor in Harlingen, TX on March 1, 2017. He was born to Hugo A. G and Florence (Barnes) Koepp in Naples, WI July 8, 1928.

Sherwood was a truck driver for Walters Brewing Co. and Drummond Packing Co. in Eau Claire, WI form 1947 -1950. He joined the army Oct. 27, 1950 and saw active duty in Korea from 1950 and 1952 and was then in the reserves. PFC Sherwood Koepp was honorably discharged Dec. 14, 1956. He was recognized for his service with CIB, Korea Svc. Medal with 1 Bronze Star, AOM (Japan) and UN Svc. Medal.

He married Carol J. Deetz Jan. 10, 1953 and they had one son, Richard Koepp. Sherwood was self-employed at Koepp's Service-Sinclair in Plymouth, MN for many years. He and Carol were active members of VFW; Carol was State President and both volunteered extensively. They loved to fish and enjoyed their lake homes before moving to Harlingen in 2002.

Sherwood is survived by his son Richard (Michelle) Koepp of Medina, MN, his grandson Chris Koepp and granddaughter Stephanie (Jon) Kelson of Minneapolis, MN.

Sherwood was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, a brother, and his wife Carol after 59 years of marriage.
