Steven Eriksmoen Obituary

Steven
Mark Eriksmoen
HARLINGEN, TX.-
9/22/71 - 5/15/11
Steve was a loving father, husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on September 22, 1971 to Wayne and Joyce Eriksmoen. As a young boy, he grew up in various cities throughout Mexico due to his family active in missionary work. In middle school, his family moved to McAllen, Texas. He attended McAllen schools and was currently working towards a Bachelor Degree in Business Management with the University of Phoenix. He would have graduated in October 2011; a personal goal he wished to accomplish by his 40th birthday.
Steve has always worked hard and took great pride with everything he did. During his teen years, he was a manager for various McDonald's in the McAllen/Pharr area. He later was a general manager for Wyatt's Cafeteria. He soon went to work for Luby's Cafeteria. He started as an associate manager at the La Plaza Mall location; he then became a general manager for a Luby's in Dallas, Texas. Over the past nine years, he has been the general manager for Luby's on 77 Sunshine Strip in Harlingen, Texas. He loved his job and making numerous friends working and serving in these communities.
After 8 years of dating, Steve married his high school sweetheart, Jennifer (Davis) Eriksmoen they would have been married 17 years in June. He was the father of two amazing boys-The loves of his life-Davis Allen Eriksmoen (13 years old) and Cameron Chase Eriksmoen (7 years old). He also leaves behind his parents, Wayne and Joyce Eriksmoen; sister, Lisa Adams (Steven); brother, Aaron Eriksmoen; mother-in-law, Karliene Davis; sisters-in-law, Donna Hutchins, Sharon Wer-necke, and Carol Rodriguez; brothers-in-law, Ron Miller and Marco Rodriguez; nephews and nieces, Nathaniel, Ethan, and Sam Adams, D.J. and Brice Wernecke, Kayla and Marc Rodriguez, Vance Hutchins, and Vanessa Erps; great nephews, Hunter and Luke Wernecke; and many close and dear friends that were seen as family rather than friends.
Cameron wanted to let the world know that his Dad taught him how to swim & ride a bike. He loved reading with his dad and playing. He loved how his dad would smell his hair and kiss his forehead.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 18, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. in Heavenly Grace Funeral Home Chapel. A celebration of Steve's life will be Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 10 am in the Christian Fellowship Church, 901 N. Loop 499, Harlingen, TX.
In lieu of flowers, an account will be set up at Harlingen Area Teacher's Credit Union, 2910 E. Grimes, Harlingen, TX. 78550 (956)364-2336 for Davis and Cameron's educational needs.

We have just learned of Steve's passing today. We want each member of the family to know how much we appreciated such a loving and kind man to greet us at Luby's. My husband also knew Steve, as Steve brought his lawn equipment to them for repair. He will surely be missed. GOD will comfort each of you and carry you through your period of mourning. Just know that no can can take away all of the happy and fun memories that each of you holds in your hearts. Each of you will be in our prayers.

Jen, Davis, Cam, and Steve's family,

My thoughts and prayers go out to you all. It's sad to see such a wonderful person gone. The good thing is that you all know what a WONDERFUL person he was to the community, as a boss, friend, father, son, brother, and husband. Reading all the posts people write lets the boys know how everyone loved their father because he was always there to help whenever anyone needed help. I could always go to him, and he would never hesitate. He helped me with donations for my football teams. Jen and Steve were always a couple that people could count on for support.

May God be with you all during this difficult time. Have faith as the Lord will always be with you. Steve will now be watching over you all ?

Love you guys,
Sandra, Jacob, Leo, and Nathan
