John Faling Obituary

John C. Faling, age 96, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 23, 2021, at his family cabin on Pettibone Lake, Mich. John was born July 8, 1925, in Hanover, Mich., to Clyde and Almeda Faling, one of five children. In 1944, John joined the US Navy, bringing our troops back from France. In 1948, John married Florence M. Stone from Jackson, Mich. After purchasing a small resort on Hubbard lake the couple with their three children moved north. The family soon moved south for winters to accommodate their son's health. First residing in Frostproof, Fla., then Venice, Fla., where John became a licensed contractor. Later he and his son, Thomas Faling, became Faling Construction Company.

John and his second wife Gyanell A. Williams from North Carolina have lived on 5 acres east of Venice for more than 30 years. John enjoyed retirement being on his 5 acres, working on his tractor, also working on his Model T and Model A cars, along with spending time with family and friends. John is dearly missed by his wife Gyanelle, his two daughters and Anne L. Willis and Janice S. Dudley, and his daughter-in-law, Robin L. Faling, three grandsons, four granddaughters, and 16 great grand children. John was preceded in death by his greatly miss ed son, Thomas Faling, who passed in 2019.

The immediate family will gather for a celebration of life on Saturday, October 16, 2021.
