Sarah Lowry Obituary

Sarah Sherrill Elliott Lowry, 93, most recently of Sunset Hills, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 18, 2024.

Sarah ("Sally") was born in Cleveland, Tennessee on March 8, 1930, and grew up in St. Elmo, Tennessee. She graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 1948 and attended the University of Tennessee, where she met Andy Lowry, her husband of 60 years. Sarah and Andy lived in central Ohio and retired to Venice, Florida in 1995.

In 1976 Sarah was cast as Stella Mae in the world premiere of Ed Graczyk's "Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean" at Players Theater in Columbus, Ohio.

Sarah spent her retirement years with the Venice Theater, where she featured regularly in the Silver Foxes Showcase, specializing in "blackout" skits and snappy one-liners.

Sarah is predeceased by her husband (Andy-2010), her daughter (Anne McDaniel-2018), and sister (Mary Grisard-2021).

She is survived by her son Chris (Amy) Lowry of Kirkwood, Missouri and grandchildren Leslie (Mike) Dingeldein, Lori (Scott) Marple, Kelly (Chris) Tucker, Gillis Lowry, and Benjamin Lowry, as well as 6 great-grandchildren.
