Thomas Clark Obituary
1953- 2026
Thomas D. Clark, 72, of North Port, Florida, passed away leaving behind a legacy of athletic excellence, community leadership, and a family that adored him. His loving smile and infectious laugh endeared him to many, and warmed the hearts of all who were lucky enough to call him a friend.
Lovingly called "Fom" by his grandchildren, Tom was a fixture in the Florida sports community. For 37 years, he was the heart of Treasure Lanes, where his mastery of bowling earned him prestigious inductions into both the Florida State Hall of Fame and the Sarasota Hall of Fame. His stats were the stuff of legend: six perfect 300 games and multiple 800 series.
When he wasn't on the lanes, Tom could be found on the golf course-where he remarkably sank three holes-in-one-or on the sidelines of a football field. As a dedicated Pop Warner Football coach, he was a coach when both of his grandsons won National Championships and continued his coaching legacy with his great-grandsons. He was also the loudest cheerleader in the stands for his great-granddaughter, Jazmyn, during her own National Cheerleading Championship run.
Family and Legacy
Above all his trophies, Tom's greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Janet Clark; and his daughters, Tammy (Billy) Midgett and Tracie Randall.
He was a proud grandfather to:
* Justin (Liz) Midgett
* Kyle (Rachel) Midgett
* Jessica (Brad) Holt
* Jenna (Jessie) Lowe
His legacy continues through his six great-grandchildren: Jazmyn, Cody, Braxton, Tyler, Faith, and Jorden.
Tom also leaves behind his incredible mother, Mary Clark (104 years young); his brothers, Edward and Roger Clark; his sister, Linda Bochat; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, George R. Clark, and his brothers, George Clark Jr. and Donald Clark.
"A coach impacts more young people in a year than the average person does in a lifetime." Tom didn't just play the games; he taught the next generation how to win with heart.
