2010
Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather went home with Jesus on April 16, 2010. He died from complications from Alzheimer's.
He was born in Ventura, Oct. 20, 1925. He was a member of the Ventura Knights of Columbus and sang in the choir at the San Buenaventura Mission for many years and, also, at the Our Lady of Assumption. He sang for many weddings. He loved all kinds of music, especially singing and playing the guitar with his friends. His children and grandchildren have inherited his talent for music. He was known as one of the best floor men installing all kinds of flooring. He loved children and would fix bikes for his children and many children in the neighborhood.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rose Marie Esperance, sons Steve Esperance (wife) Lydia) and Tony Esperance (wife Chris), daughters Theresa Witzig Smith (husband Cary) and Lynn Lee, sisters Delphina Garcia, brother Jimmy Martinez, grandchildren Michael Esperance, Arlene Flores, Tobin Esperance, Kindyl Esperance, Anthony Esperance, Sean Esperance, Lisa Oreskovich, Joseph Witzig, and Billy Witzig and nine great-grandchildren who would put a big smile on his face when they came to visit. He will also be missed by his cats who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents Martina Martinez and Augustin Esperance. His sisters Beatrice Hinostro, Jennie Hinostro, Katherine Ledbetter, Carmen Lautenschlager, Anna Hill, and Angie Ruiz.
Many thanks to the staff at the Livingstone Memorial for their compassion and professionalism during this difficult time. He will be missed.
The Broken Chain We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name, in life we loved you dearly; in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you didn't go alone; for part of us went with you , the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories; your love is still our guide, and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 21 at the Joseph Reardon Funeral Home, Ventura. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 22 at the San Buenaventura Mission, Ventura. Burial will follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura. Mr.
Esperance was entrusted to the care of the family owned Joseph Reardon Funeral Home, 757 East Main Street, Ventura; 643-8623. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Dear Rose and all of the Esperance family, We send our sympathy to you for the loss of your dear husband, dad, and grandpa. When I think of Augo, I think of a kind smile and easy-going personality. I will always appreciate his kindness to our brother, Bill, through the many years he had with Theresa. And - you must have been wonderful parents to raise an outstanding person like Theresa. May God bless and comfort you all, Susie Yee and family.

Dear Rose, Theresa, Lynn, Steve and Tony, and all your family. We are thinking of you at this time of loss and sadness. May the Lord be your great comfort knowing your dear husband and father rests in the Lord. We remember Augo as a friendly and gentle man, and always enjoyed any time we spent with him in years past. We will be thinking of you on Thursday morning. In Christian love, Ken and Linda Cooper and family

Dear Family and Friends-
This morning's obituary rekindled childhood memories in me of old El Rio school during the late 1930s when Augo, Annie and Delphina were students there. We touched bases as adults whenever we met but had not seen each other in many years. I remember him as a good kid who grew up to be a good person.
May God help you revere his memory and cope with his loss.
