Bobby Hill Obituary
Oxnard, CA
Bobby Hill passed away peacefully while convalescing from heart surgery at Bayside Care Center, Morro Bay, CA on November 9, 2015. He was 72.
Hill is survived by his wife Yolanda and children: Michelle Hill, Charlene (Hill) Bennett (Reginald), and Raquel Hill; brother John Earl Hill (Pam), sister Louise Washington (James), three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, stepfather Forest Murry and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Born December 14, 1942, Naples, Texas, Hill graduated from Oxnard High School and attended Ventura Jr. College and LaVerne University where he earned a Master's degree.
Hill served 28 years as a probation officer in Ventura County. He retired in 1993 and later worked as substitute teacher in Oxnard and Morro Bay.
Life Celebration will be held November 18, 2015, Ted Mayr Mortuary, 3150 Loma Vista Drive, Ventura, CA 93003 at 11:00 am. Viewing at Mortuary November 17 at 4 to 8 pm.

I was classmate of Bobby at Oxnard Union High School and remember him well. Coincidently, I also earned a master's degree and worked in correction settings as a mental health counselor for much of my career. Bobby was a cheerful guy and well liked by his classmates. My thoughts are with your family for the loss of this intelligent, kind and amazing man who was your husband, father and grandfather, but who I knew as the absolutely best Probation Officer Ventura County ever had. Bobby was always the person to ask when one of us in the D.A's office, a judge or any defense attorney had a question about the laws and rules of sentencing. While that may sound mundane, it was not, and justice was always served fairly beayse if this outstanding man.

Bobby! (Frank & Linda Trevino)
I pray for my Lord to give strength to Bobby's family and comfort. I have known Bobby for many many years, and feel his leaving us is a tremendous loss. We could all have been close to having his personality, but then there's only one Bobby Hill. I'm going to miss you very much Bobby. May you rest in Gods arms and ask the Lord to make this a safer and better world to live in. God bless you and your family.

My deepest condolences to the Hill family, extended family, and friends of Bobby Hill. Bobby was one of the friendliest people I have ever met. He seemed to know people everywhere he went. It is always hard to say goodbye to someone so full of energy, light, and love for everyone. It has been a few years since I phoned up north to say hi to him and Yolanda but I still can feel the loss of his smile and loving energy from our needy world. We lost a good one and I will say - "too soon." With his memory left to carry those close to him, I know there are lots of warm smiles and tons of wonderful energy to hold on to and carry forward for always. Hugs and love to all during this time of loss.

I remember Bobby from high school where he was two grades ahead of me. I ran into him for the last time in 1978 at a court preceding in Ventura. I remember the meeting well because he greeted me like a long lost friend and more importantly he spoke to the judge on my behalf at an adoption hearing. My daughter is now 35 and I still remember Bobby's generous gesture.

I saw Bobby at the care home about 2 weeks before he passed, and spoke with him by phone about a week later. I want friends and family to know that he was still the old Bobby we all enjoyed. You would not have realized that he was so ill. I will remember this spirit.

I remember Bobby well. He was a good friend in high school. He stuck up for me and I helped him through biology. One of my fondest memories of him was dancing with him at a reunion. What an honor. Hello Bobby, as we both know that this is the beginning of a great time to rejoice with your mother and God. I will miss our daily talks but my memories will last a life time. TO THE HILL FAMILY KNOW THAT BOBBY IS RESTING IN THE MASTERS ARMS NO MORE SORROW AND NO MORE PAIN ONE DAY WE WILL ALL BE ABLE TO SEE BOBBY AGAIN.
