Eric Carrillo Obituary

Eric Anthony Carrillo

Oxnard - Eric Anthony Carrillo, of Oxnard, passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 21, 2021, at the age of 27.

Eric was born on March 17, 1993, to Patty Alvidrez and Armando Carrillo.

He was an artist for 10 years which came from his love of drawing and painting. He also was a barber and enjoyed carpentry work. Eric enjoyed going to the gym, playing sports such as basketball and football. He loved shooting hoops and throwing the football around with his niece and nephews and showing you videos of their skills. He enjoyed hanging with his friends, especially on Sundays. He played the tables and was a gamer but he really, really enjoyed shopping for clothes. He is loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

Eric is preceded in death by his father Armando Carrillo.

He is survived by his mother Patty Alvidrez, sister: Renee Carrillo, nephews: Taylen, Kaden, Braylen, and niece Brylee. He is also survived by his aunt Frances McAngus (Gary), cousins: Jaime Esquivel (Raylene), Patrick (Sara), Jeremy Herrera and Bobby Martinez. Girlfriend: Cheynne and little Brock. His other family: his cherished friends, you know who you are.

Mass will be held for Eric on Friday, March 12, 2021, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 2511 S C St, Oxnard, CA 93033, at 10 am.

First off... thank you to everyone for coming today to celebrate the life of ERIC ANTHONY CARRILLO. And special thanks Mama Patty, Renee and the rest of the family for allowing me to speak gracefully on behalf of all of Eric’s friends especially his brothers sitting here before me.

As mentioned, My name is Dennis Rose but like my family n closed ones like Eric, I go by DJ. I’ve known Eric for about plus 10 years... he was a loving son, a caring brother, entertaining cousin & nephew, the perfect uncle, and in my eyes, a loyal friend.

Out of all the beautiful qualities & traits that come to mind when I think of Eric, one stood out to me the most. How big
Of a heart Eric had. He really put others before him. All Eric wanted for you was the BEST and he would absolutely make sure of it. Whether it be him pushing you through conversation, or simply teaching through his actions, he always wanted to see you WIN. That’s what I loved and admired the most about him, his unconditional love for you.

We would spend countless hours going back n forth about fashion, music, (sorry babe) women & sports, especially football n basketball just to name a few. Hope that someday my raiders would play his falcons on Super Bowl Sunday. Or how much a fan he was of the warriors before the championships, right Christian? Lol
And if there was ever a debate Eric would be sure to have all the date receipts for referral lol.. he made sure not to lose in a heated debate amongst friends.

Eric was an amazing artist. He had so many God given talents but to be able to have the ability to cut hair and tattoo is beyond me. And may I add that our brother was Self Taught. I remember about 3 summers ago, Eric, you just came back from Vegas and you were very excited to try out your wireless tattoo gun.. you ended up tattooing yourself by my pool that same day.. I’m thinking to myself he’s crazy!! but just another validation on how gifted he was!

Out of all the memories Eric & I shared throughout our brotherhood, one of them stood out the most. On my 28th birthday back in Jan you delivered a birthday speech I’ll cherish in my heart forever. Your last gift to me.
You mentioned your dad being gone (God rest his soul) and how we would always talk about him and how I would tell you
“What would your dad want”. Well my brother... you are now reunited with him. He has welcomed you with open arms as you leave this earth the same way he as he carried you
when you got brought in... I truly wish I was giving a speech next week on your birthday but God had other plans.. and that’s what’s been keeping me sane. Gods plan is much greater than ours... we must accept it. I believe there’s beauty in pain and in this moment it’s a beautiful feeling knowing Eric is with his Dad, Armando in heaven.

So let me encourage you this morning to hug someone you love a bit tighter... tell your parents you love them... reach out and check up on your friends... because it may be the last.
I saw you Eric a week before you left and I would never imagine it would be our last.. but this isn’t good bye... it’s until we meet again my brother.

Continue to watch over us as we will to moms, Renee and the family.. We got them forever and will love them like our own..

Fly high my brother.. I love you.. 3 3 3...

God bless you all, Thank you.

Dear Eric, thanks for always making me feel special even when I was a little freshman and you were the big dawg on campus, you’d always take the time to say hi and make me feel like a somebody when I felt like a nobody. You always made me feel special and that was your touch, I’d pray I’d get the time to spend time with you and little did I know 10 years later you’re inviting to COD lobbies with NBA players..... like why me, what makes me so special but you didn’t have to be special.....just special to Eric. I wish I could tell you how hard of a month I’ve been having and you would “tell me not to worry everything will be ok” and Id listen cause I listened to everything you said, you were always my idol. I promise I’m going to make the world a better place in your honor. I love you and miss you everyday. 333

I’ll never understand why you had to leave us early but I’m glad we got almost 28 years with you. Knowing we will never see you again hurts but we know your with Tio Mando betting all the overs. I’m sure you took Gonzaga to win the tournament. The way you touched people has been evident with all the support from family and friends. You were the definition of raw talent. You could draw someone a portrait, give them the perfect fade, and tattoo a meaningful message on them. A true one stop shop. Even built your own room with drywall and everything. All you needed was YouTube and some tools that you were gonna return to Home Depot the next day. Growing up we shared a room together and had so many memories. The funny thing is, the last few months he was always telling me “you remember when...” followed by a memory from our childhood. He was always adventurous and would do anything for a laugh. (Like eat bugs and juke random people with a football at theme parks)
We shared a love for sports. One time DJ said no one knows more about football then him, which started a debate between us. A few months later he won our fantasy championship and let everyone know. Only 2 time champ in our league. We loved talking about the boys and watching them grow up. We’d tell stories about them when they were younger and laugh. His laugh is something I’ll never forget. Enjoy my tio Mando and grandma and we got my tia patty and my mom and the rest of the family in the meantime. I love you Eric

Eric was my older cousin who I looked up to a lot because Every time we would hang out as kids he would always be the goofy funny one and would always have me laughing no matter what. I miss you so much Eric I am still in disbelief that this happened. And to my Tia patty I’m so sorry you have to go through this. I will always be here for you. I love you ❤

Patty, Renee,Fran, and Jamie..Eric was a jack of all trades...I can still see him showing me his masterpieces.
He was always so proud of his work (Tattoos ) and sharing the “meaning” of each one he created and I’m sure the haircuts he gave had a unique style. His bright smile and his politeness will forever be in my memory. God has added another angel artist to color the heavens. May god bring you all comfort during this difficult season. Please know you are loved❣
