Esteban Navarro Obituary

Esteban "Steve" Navarro entered the gates of Heaven peacefully at his home on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. Steve was born on April 27, 1953 in Tepatitlan, Jalisco, Mexico. He attended Our Lady of Guadalupe and graduated from Santa Clara High School in 1972. As a young man, he had a love of cars and through his dedication, hard work and determination; Steve achieved his dream of owning and operating Steve's Transmissions in Oxnard. His honesty, dependability and generous personality were not only felt by his family but also by friends, customers and peers in the industry. Steve is survived by the love of his life, Cecilia "Sheila", son, Steve "Stevie" (Christina), daughter, Rachel, his many "grandchildren" by heart and a host of family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Esteban & Celia Navarro and brother Javie Navarro.
Special thanks to Steve's brothers Morey and Arthur Navarro for all their love and support.
Rosary will be held on Friday, December 12th at 6:30 pm at Santa Clara High School gym, 2121 Saviers Rd, Oxnard. Mass will be at 11:30am on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Santa Clara Church followed by interment at Santa Clara Cemetery.

It is hard to believe that Steve has been gone so long. We knew Steve and Sheila as neighbors. Steve was exceptionally kind and genuine. Our world will never be the same without him. May he rest with our Lord until we meet again.

It saddened me to hear of Steve's passing. Although I had not seen him in quite a while, I have fond memories of Steve as we grew up on Bonita Street. He was a great story teller and always had a good joke, I still laugh to this day at some of his stories. My wife Joyce was also fortunate to have met Steve when they attended Santa Clara HS. Our deepest condolences go out to you Sheila, your children and to all the Navarro family. We are so very sorry for your loss, our thoughts and prayers are with you. Rest in Peace Steve.

Big Steve was always good to me and the rest of us refrigerator raiding, after-hours shop invading, noise-making youth! As a shop owner goes, classy and professional. As a person and father, even more successful.

Sheila and family,
My sincere condolences to you during this time. Steve was an inspiration to so many. I am thankful and proud to have known him as my fellow classmate throughout our years at Our Lady of Guadalupe and Santa Clara High School, and will always appreciate the guidance he gave to others; it is a very small world we live in, and families grow and continue to interact, as did Steve's family and ours with the friendship of our children at OLG and SCHS. He does really leave us all a wonderful legacy. God bless.
