Frank was born July 23, 1938. He died peacefully at home in Moorpark, CA on December 14, 2011.
He was born to John and Zulma DeSmith in Hastings, Michigan. After living in a series of foster homes between the ages of 6 and 14, he was adopted by Everett and Vera Miller. He is survived by one sister, Rosemary Grasso of Muncie, Indiana.
Even as a child, Frank had an unusual mechanical ability, enjoyed working with electricity and constructing things. On one occasion he built Rosemary a sewing machine out of wire and used lumber. He was happiest when he was tinkering with electrical equipment, but his teachers felt that he showed a lot of artistic ability as well.
As an adult, Frank obtained an education including a PhD in physics. He loved cars, even racing them as a hobby for a time. He worked for many years as an engineer, designing power supply systems. He loved music, often referring to lyrics of oldies rock or country songs that fit the conversation at hand.
In 1974 Frank learned the good news from the Bible about Jehovah God and his purpose to make this earth a paradise home for righteous mankind under his Sons Kingdom rule. He dedicated the rest of his life to serving God and telling others about the good news of the kingdom, in obedience to Jesus prophecy & command at Matthew 24:14 and Matthew 28:19, 20. He was very happy to be part of a loving spiritual family. Franks quiet manners, kind generosity, organized service to others in the congregation and his unfailing dedication to his ministry will be remembered and sorely missed until he returns in the resurrection. As one friend said when she heard he had died: Im glad I got to know him.
There will be a memorial service Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 3 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 4230 Hitch Blvd., Moorpark
