George Ballinger Obituary

George "Bud" W. Ballinger

Ventura, CA

George "Bud" W. Ballinger, Jr. (78) passed away suddenly, at his home in Ventura, on Tuesday, November 10, 2015. He was born September 14, 1937 in Los Angeles, CA.

George is survived by his two brothers, Ben and David, sister, Maryann, wife, Elaine and children, Karen, Rhonda, Scott, Kimberly and Cynthia (Mark). He also leaves behind five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

George grew up in Oxnard, CA. and graduated from Oxnard High School in 1955.

George worked 28 years for the Santa Fe Railroad and earned his retirement in 2002. He was a Communications Maintainer.

George enjoyed watching old western movies, supporting his favorite team, the Anaheim Angels, discussing politics, fishing at the beach, taking care of his beautiful fuchsias, and reading the Ventura Star newspaper, everyday, from front to back...twice.

George will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

At George's request, there will be no formal services. His family will have a private celebration of life for him next Father's Day.

They're on their way Bud, so watch your footing and have a safe trip!

You were thought of last night (you still often are) as another "Budism" cropped up in our conversation: "A wise man would have a key!" ;)

George: Many of your Santa Fe Railroad friends are just now learning of your passing. You were truly one of the legends of the Communications Dept. I am proud to say that I worked with you! "Communications Is Tricky"

Thank you George...for your advise, long discussions while enjoying the day out front of your house as you monitored the comings and goings of the neighbors, history lessons as we drove around Ventura County and most of all, for giving me your daughter. I promised 20 years ago I would take care of her. I won't let you down. Rest in peace.
