George Frederick Wilding died after a long illness on May 31.
Mr. Wilding was born in Walsall, England, on September 19, 1924 to George and Mabel Whitehouse. The family moved to Bristol when he was a young boy. World War II interrupted his education. He served his country and saw action in France during the invasion and finished his career assigned to GHQ as Manager of the Mess.
He married the late Alice Marshall in 1948. After the war ended, Mr. Wilding continued his education at Manchester University. George and Alice moved to the U.S. in 1978 after Mr. Wilding left his position as a Director of the Princess Hotels in Bermuda. Until he retired in 2002, he was the manager of Brookfield Farms in Hidden Valley, Calif. George became a U.S. citizen in 1996 and was a member of the Conejo Valley Lodge No. 807 which bestowed upon him the prestigious Hiram Award in 2005.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on June 16th, , at the Conejo Valley Lodge 807, 2786 Crescent Way in Thousand Oaks.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in George's name to the Boys Republic, 1907 Boys Republic Dr., Chino Hills, Calif., 91709.

George, We will miss you.
George was a man of kindness and had a passion for his job.
I believe he and Alice are together again. Which makes me smile.
