Glenn Arthur Obituary

Glenn Eugene Arthur, Jr., beloved father, brother, friend and coach passed away on March 18, 2013. Gene was born August 7, 1956, in San Bernardino, Calif. Gene came to Camarillo in 1991 and immediately embraced Camarillo as his home. Gene is survived by his son, Geno; ex-wife, RoxAnna Arthur of Camarillo; daughter, Jenna Altopp; grandson, Gavin of Riverside; brother, Mike; and sister, Candace of Pennsylvania.

Gene devoted much of his time to Geno and coaching in the YMCA Basketball organization and to CYBA for over ten years. Gene enjoyed seeing the boys and girls he had coached over the years grow into wonderful young men and women, he took great pride in being a part of their lives. Gene always met people with a smile and at times a hug.

As Geno grew up he attended Rio Mesa High School and Gene spent years on the sideline cheering on the Cross Country and Track teams. When he wasn't on the sideline you could find him serving at the snack bar.

Gene spent the last year of his life working at DoRight's Plant Growers where he had become a trusted and valuable asset to the company and will be missed.

Gene touched many lives in the Camarillo community with his generosity, sense of humor, and kindness. He will be sadly missed and always hold a special place in our hearts.

Memorial service will be held on Friday, March 29, at 4 p.m. at Trinity Presbyterian Church at 2304 Antonio Drive in Camarillo.

In lieu of flowers a fund has been set up for his son, Geno, at Chase Bank, 2510 Las Posas Road, #G, Camarillo, Calif. 93010.

Geno, Sabrina and I are saddened to hear of your loss. Our hearts are with you in this time of sorrow. Please accept our heartfelt condolences. I talked to your dad quite a bit over the past few years - some of those meets were pretty long. He was as proud of you as any father could be. We had kept in touch via email and I would just like to leave you with a copy of the last email I had received from him about a month ago. "Rich,
Glad to hear Sabrina is doing so well, we all sometimes need to find our way. My first 2 years of college I majored in Baseball and girls and turned out reasonably OK! Geno is just one of the rare ones and I hope he stays as focused as he is now.
Please keep me updated on Sabrina's progress. The class of 2012 was the best.
Gene"
He will be there with you, at every race.

Geno, my heart grieves for you knowing what a huge loss you have encountered. I know your father was your biggest cheerleader and loved you very much. Sorry for your loss and I hope you have people around for support during this time. Kari Gasner

Geno, over the years I would bump into your dad through work. He was so proud of you and your accomplishments. He never missed an opportunity to talk about how you were doing and the last time I saw him he (of course) whipped out your picture to show me. He was so proud to be your dad. I am so sad and sorry for your loss. Best to you, Lisa Fox (Sarah's mom and your old next door neighbor)
