Grace Goodrow Obituary

Grace F. Goodrow, 58, died suddenly of cardiac arrest April 4, 2013.

She was born to the late Robert Grimes and Lois Haney in Ames, Iowa, on September 25, 1954.

She lived mostly in Ventura, Calif., enjoying her life as a Gold Coast Transit bus driver for the last 16 yrs. She also worked at Sheridan Way Elementary, where she helped the students in the computer lab for 10 yrs.

Grace loved gardening, spending time with family and friends, and strengthening her relationship with God.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jon And Tiffany Goodrow of San Diego, Calif.; sister, Robyn M. Walton of Oxnard, Calif.; niece and nephews, Terri Grimes, Tim Walton and Frankie McBee II also of Oxnard, Calif.; brother, James C. Grimes and family of Decatur, Ala.; and best friend Millie Pierce. She is preceded in death by her mother, Lois; father, Robert; and brothers, Russell Grimes and Robert Allen Grimes.

Celebration of Life Services will be Saturday, April 20, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Nazarene, 365 S. Seaward Ave. Ventura, Calif. 93001.

My heart and prayers go out to your family Grace. I was blessed to know such an uninhibited spirit yet so simply at peace. You spoke it like it was. Your devotion and guiding love for Jon was inspiring. You were amazing in many ways and touched many lives. Rest in Gods arms sweet lady and I'm sure my mama was there to welcome you. I was sad to hear of the passing of Grace. She was at Sheridan Way School for a few years, that is where I got to know her. Always had a smile and was very positive with the children in the Computer Lab. She often talked about her son, and was so proud of him. Her and Millie very often came to school in the same colors, and they planned it that way. Rest in peace Grace. The dolphins at SW pray for you....

Grace.... As you know you were taken from us far too soon. You were one of the kindest, loving, Gentle, And amazing woman I ever had the chance to known. Wonderful Grace! I worked with Grace at Sheridan Way for many years and so enjoyed her skill and love of working with the kids in the computer lab. She was great with the kids and with all the staff. Grace had a joy for life and she passed that joy to all that were in her presence.
