Grace Lowe Obituary

Grace L. Lowe, 76, of Ventura, passed away peacefully on Nov. 4, 2010 at home, after a long battle with cancer.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13 at South Coast Fellowship in Ventura with Pastor Larry Reichardt officiating. Her children will scatter her ashes in a private ceremony.

Grace was born in Chicago, Ill., to Joseph and Francis Zibrun on July 26, 1934. She married Robert A. Lowe on May 14, 1955 in Chicago and moved to Ventura shortly after their wedding. Grace was a homemaker and loved family gatherings. She was an active member of South Coast Fellowship in Ventura where she was an elder and was active in the church's food outreach program. She was happiest when surrounded by those she loved.

Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and parents, Joseph and Francis.

Grace is survived by her three children, Robert Lowe of Covington, Wash., David Lowe of Simi Valley, and Donna Bratschun of Tulsa, Okla., along with daughters-in-law, Stephanie Lowe of Covington, Wash., and Josie Lowe of Simi Valley, and son-in-law, Neal Bratschun of Tulsa Okla. She leaves behind her sister, Shirley Williamson of Ventura, and brother, Joseph of Chicago. She was blessed to have five grandchildren: Rebecca Gunn of Tulsa, Okla., Michael and Sarah Bratschun of Tulsa, Okla., along with Rachel and Brian Lowe of Simi Valley.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that a donation be made toward the research in the fight against cancer.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to her "adopted" daughter and friend, Elaine, as well as to her caregiver Julie, the staff of the hospice organization, and to South Coast Fellowship who saw her through this trying time.

Arrangements by Charles Carroll Funeral Home, 642-8134.

Although Donna and I never lived together in Ventura, we probably made at least 100 trips to visit you there. Your home was always like our home way from home and we refeshed and inspired by those times together. You're in a better place now while we all are finishing our course, pressing toward the mark for the prize of God's high calling. We rejoice that we will see you again in God's due season!
Your loving son-in-law, Neal

Yesterday I found an anniversary card that you sent and it made me smile. I don't know how many stickers you kept in your stash, but I loved that they were always there. While I'll miss you and all you did, I know that we will all be together again some day. You were an incredible example of a true follower of Christ to me and I am so glad that I could call you my grandma!
Love always, Rebecca

There are never enough words to describe how thankful I will always be to God for the amazing woman He gave to me as my mother. Mom never thought about herself. She was always willing to deny herself anything and everything so she could please those she loved the most. She sought the wisdom and counsel each and everyday from the Lord. As far back as I can remember she worshipped the Lord and prayed each and everyday morning before the sun ever came up. What an example she set for those of us here on this earth. She is now running with the angels on streets made of gold and in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ. There is no greater joy knowing she has been reunited with dad and she is forever free and some day I will see her face again, I will hear her voice again and I will laugh with her. But until that day mom, I will continue to run my race here on this earth. The world is not as nice a place without you in it but Heaven just got sweeter when you entered it. I love you always mom. Your daughter Donna
