Guadalupe "Lupe" (Milner) Ramirez

Yuba City, CA - Guadalupe "Lupe" Ramirez 82, of Yuba City CA, passed away peacefully at her home on February 26th, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.

Lupe was born on October 27, 1938 in El Monte, CA. Her family farmed in the Los Angeles area long before it was a metropolis. Several times the family farms were bought through imminent domain for putting in new roads.

After marrying Albert Milner in 1955 they welcomed son David, followed by Tony and then Donald. The family moved to Santa Paula and then Ojai where she dedicated her life to raising her family and helping her parents with their fruit stand along Hwy 126 in Fillmore, CA.

She moved to Yuba City in 2019 to be closer to her two sons and family. A favorite memory cherished by her family was making Christmas tamales with Mama Nana.

Lupe was known by family and friends as a wonderful cook and her kitchen was always open to all. Her fun personality and hospitality made her home a natural gathering spot for family and friends. Lupe always kept God in her life and was a dedicated Catholic servant.

Lupe's husband, Joe Ramirez, passed away in October 2020 after years of tenderly caring for Lupe and Lupe caring for him. Once Joe died Lupe's health deteriorated quickly but she was able to spend her last Christmas with all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her two sons: Tony Milner (Monique) and Donald Milner; her sister, Esther Martinez; her brother, Freddie Becerra; grandchildren Zach (Amber), Sam, Ben (Emily), Nick, Liz, and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, David Milner in 2006.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Yuba City, CA on March 29, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life honoring Lupe with close family and friends at the home of Tony & Monique.
