Helen J. Jakubiak, 87, passed away at home peacefully in her sleep on Jan. 5, 2011.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent, and her son, Paul.

Helen was born in Albany, N.Y., on April 3, 1923, to Louis and Adelia Josefchak, the youngest of three children.

She is survived by her son, Peter V. Jakubiak of Aurora, Ill., and her daughter, Lois Anne Meeker of Thousand Oaks; four grandchildren, Brittany, Peter Jr., Amanda and Andrew; and five great-grandchildren.

Helen retired from New York State Department of Audit and Control where she worked as a secretary of the Comptroller for over 20 years. She will be remembered for her love of movies, martinis and bingo!

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 11, at St. Paschal Baylon Church on 155 E. Janss Rd., Thousand Oaks. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to The Little Sisters of the Poor, 2325 N.
