Thank you Bob, the Jeffrey's family, Bilal, and to all Kamilah's family and church friends, her service today was a wonderful celebration of her life. Kamilah was my dear friend for many years at probation. I have missed her since her illness, and will never forget her words of wisdom and even the trouble we caused. She was a powerful force in my life and for all those that knew her. God Bless you and rest in peace dear Kamilah. ❤

Working for the County of Ventura Correctional Services Agency; I was hired by Betty June Verity and David Conahey as a Criminal Justice Intern. My assignment was at the Work Furlough Program. As an Intern I worked under Tom Arnold,Charles Bahu, and briefly with Kamilah Salaam. They taught me everything about probation and always encouraged me to take exams to further my career. Kamilah encouraged me more; almost like having a big sister at work. She enjoyed eating my chocolate chip cookies and when you have a mentor like her, I had no problem making her a batch of chocolate chip cookies....I know she is at peace; may God Bless all of Kamilah's family and friends.... I'm thankful for her mentoring and encouragement never to be forgotten.
