Lisa Bruno Obituary

It is with profound sadness and grief that we announce the passing of Lisa Annette Bruno, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. Lisa passed away peacefully after a hard fought battle with cancer at her home with her family by her side on the morning of Oct. 5th, 2009. Lisa was born on July 1, 1964 to Jack and Marie Wagner in Van Nuys, Ca.

She is survived by her loving husband of 24 years David, her son Cameron Anthony (19), her daughter Kayla Marie (16), father Jack Wagner, sister Francine Kearns, brothers Anthony and John Wagner and 17 nieces and nephews.

The Bruno family would like to thank a very special person in Lisa's life -- her best friend and endless source of support and strength to Lisa and to our entire family, Cathy Reazer, an angel in our eyes. Lisa has touched many lives in our 22 years in Simi Valley and we hope that we all have fond memories of the times she put others before herself and was always there for others in times of need and support.

A memorial service will be held on Friday Oct. 9th, 2009 at 1 p.m. at Reardon Simi Valley Funeral Home 526-6677. There will be a mass at St. Paschal Baylon in Thousand Oaks on Sat, Oct. 10th, 2009 at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow.

I day I met my special friend, whose smile was as big as her heart, she told me her name, which is my sister's name and her birthday, which is my brother's birthday, I knew she was a special angel sent to me. Both of our mother's passed when we were young and the connection I had with Lisa is undescribable. Although we were only neighbors for a couple of years, I feel so blessed to have had her in my life. She loved her family so very much and I am so incredibly sad for their loss. I lit candles on Friday night, which she always did when you came over. She welcomed you every time like you were so special. She is amongst the angels right now, organizing some wonderful celebration with lots of munchies and watching over all of us. She will be in my family's heart always and forever. I am a better friend, mother and sister for all that Lisa showed and taught me. My thoughts and prayers are with Dave, Cam and Kayla, always and forever.

Lisa was always such a sweetheart and I will never forget her and all the good times we shared together at FF and after. I especially remember all the times we stressed out at work lol but we always got through it..she always understood me and I always appreciated that about her. She was a very understanding and thoughtful person who always wanted to help even when you didn't ask for it. She was just really a good natured person and I will miss those talks we used to have about my crazy life and hearing how happy she was with hers and the stories of the past about her family and how she met Dave. She would listen and give me advice..she was such a mother! She was great and I will always have a special place in my heart for her. My prayers and condolences to Dave, Cameron, Kayla and to the Wagner family. Lisa was a very special person as everyone who was able to experience her never ending happiness knows. I am very sad that she is gone but I know she is in a better place and I am especially glad to say that I knew Lisa and had the privilege of calling her a friend. She is loved and will always be missed.

My memories of Lisa will always be of her as a little girl. She was a little elf, with curly black hair and a big smile, running through the house, laughing. Her memory will always warm my heart.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all her family! God Bless! Love Carmela and Pat

I remember when Lisa was born. My mom was watching John, Francine and Anthony and we got the call that cousin Marie had had a girl. Francine was so happy that she had a sister. I am praying for David, Cameron and Kayla to find peace through God's promise. What a beautiful life she had to be blessed with so so many people who loved and admired her. Lisa's legacy will live on in the memories of those who knew and loved her. I will always picture her with that huge smile everytime I think of her.

Lisa was such a wonderful person. I honestly cannot think one on time that I was around her that she didn't have a smile on her face and a laugh that would feel the entire room. Lizz and I have always considered your family our friends and are truly saddened by Lisa's passing. She will always be in our hearts, as will the entire Bruno family. We are honored to have been a smart part of Lisa's life.

Lisa inspired, refreshed, and lifted the spirits of everyone she came in contact with. I will never forget her beautiful, distinctive laugh, her unbelievable energy level, and her love for her family, friends, and co-workers. My hope for all of us that knew and loved her, is to realize that this is not the end of anything; it's the beginning of her everlasting life, free of the burdens of this world, and dwelling in God's loving presence; a place where we will have the privilege of being with her again someday.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Lisa’s passing. I initially knew Lisa through close friends of my family; I then had the opportunity of working for Lisa about 5 years ago. Lisa and I unfortunately had lost touch, however I will always hold so many fond memories of her during the time we shared. Lisa was such an amazing person; she would greet everyone in the office each morning with her beaming smile. We loved to laugh and share stories with each other about our families, friends, passions, etc. We always discovered after so many of our chats that we shared so much in common. Primarily, our love for our families. I always loved to hear her stories of her husband and children. During one of our many conversations Lisa and I discovered that we both enjoyed listening to Dean Martin and Andre Bocelli. The very next morning when I came to work there was a Dean Martin and Andre Bocelli CD on my desk from Lisa. She was always so thoughtful and genuinely cared for everyone. My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

Lisa was such a beautiful person and I will always be grateful to her for taking care of my kids after they were born and showing them so much love. We shared a great bond and friendship as cousins that I will miss. I will miss our early morning visits to the cememtery, just her and I, with coffee in hand, to visit our mothers who were buried near each other. I will miss our great talks and especially her smiling face, she was always happy and full of life. I love you Lisa and will miss you dearly. My prayers go out to Dave, Cameron and Kayla and the rest of the family.
