Lloyd W. Fellows, 85, passed away peacefully in his sleep September 16, 2013 after years of struggling with Parkinson's Disease, . He was born in 1928 to Lloyd and Alma Nichols Fellows in Los Angeles, Ca.

A schools, Lloyd graduated from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo (1951), He served in the Navy during the Korean War reaching the rank of Lieutenant J. G. and Electronics Repair Officer. He attended USC School of Theology and moved with the school to Claremont School of Theology where he earned a MTh (1958). He was ordained in the United Church of Christ (UCC). He returned to USC to complete a doctorate (1964) and obtain a psychology license. He worked as a psychologist at Camarillo State Hospital and founded and directed the Family Counseling Center of Ventura County, a non profit offering treatment on a sliding scale. He taught at Fullerton J,C, Chatman College (World Campus Afloat), Cal State Northridge, Cal Lutheran and Ventura College.
He volunteered for many professional and civic organizations: President and Board member of the Ventura County Psychological Association and member of American and California Psychological Associations; Rotary West of Ojai, International Service Chair, a Paul Harris Fellow and an Ojai Living Treasure (1998); American Red Cross: Committee Member of the Southern California Disaster Council, a Board member of the Ventura County Chapter and Chairman of the Board of Ojai Valley Chapter; Minister for the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Ojai; The Theosophical Society in the Ojai Valley and on the Board of Far Horizons Camp; An Advisory Board member of Caregivers of Ventura County from which with the Board of Supervisors he received Ventura County Distinguished Citizen Award: "In recognition of life-time achievements and contributions to the quality of life in Ventura County.
"(1994) He was Foreman of the Ventura County Grand Jury (1993/4).
All his life he searched for spiritual understanding through traditions of East and West. He greatly enjoyed traveling, gardening, reading, repairing machines, HAM radio, and developing property. He published several books on religious subjects and coauthored one on psychology.
He is survived by his spouse of 50 years, Katie Fellows, their children Martha and Bill Fellows ( Lisa Palladino) and five grandchildren: William and Lacy Shifflette, Grace Fellows, Sterling and Poppy Palladino, all of Ojai ; his sisters JoAnne Milburn (Los Osos) and Lois ( Lewis) Lancaster, (Stinson Beach.) He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, John Shifflette and brother-in-law, Tom Milburn.
The family thanks James Halverson, M.D. and the Ojai Valley Family Medical Group, Carol McCormick R.N.and her hospice team at Livingston Memorial and Dorulet and Laura Moga and the staff of Casa Bella in Meiners Oaks.
A celebration of Lloyd's life is planned on November 16 at 5 p.m. at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Fisher Hall, corner of Bristol and Ojai Ave. Please call 798 1106 for information.
