Lorenzo loved to go camping. He also enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and watching science fiction, but most of all he loved playing jokes on all his 18 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Estella Tarango; father, Manuel Tarango Sr.; sisters Manuela Salcido, Rita Navarrez, and Eva Lascano; brothers Frank Tarango, and Jess Salcido.
Lorenzo is survived by his wife of 42 years, Carmen; daughters Mary (husband Andrew) Bustos, Cindy (husband Tarango Gaona Jr.), Joanne (husband Milo) Bustillos, Christine (husband Johnny Juarez) Tarango, Jessica Tarango, Veronica (husband Edward Carrillo) Tarango, and Vanessa Tarango; brother, Manuel (wife Beatrice) Tarango Jr. from Texas; sister, Blanca (husband Philipe) Guevarra; 18 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many many friends.
Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at the chapel of Funeraria del angel Stetler Mortuary, 128 S. 8th St., Santa Paula, with a recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. at St. Sebastian Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, at St. Sebastian Catholic Church. Reception will be announced at the Mass.
Arrangements are under the direction of Funeraria del angel Stetler Mortuary, 128 S. 8th St., Santa Paula, phone 1-805-525-5595.
