Phyllis passed away peacefully holding her grand daughter's hand on Jan. 17, 2010.
Phyllis was born June 18, 1926 in Front Royal Virginia. She met the love of her life Merrill during World War II. They married and moved to Southern California where they had three children -- Janet Ted and John. Phyllis became a homemaker dedicating her life to being a wife and mother. Phyllis' kindness and sense of humor will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years Merrill, daughter Janet Yokota and husband Kevinn, son Ted and wife Debbie, son John and wife Susie. Her grandchildren Jeffery Gardner, Trena Gardner, Kimberly Gardner, Ryan Yokota, Justin Hastings, Ashley Hastings, Cortney Hastings, Scott Hastings, and Jason Hastings. Her great grandchildren Alaina Gardner and Josie Gardner.
Services will be Friday Jan. 22 at 2 p.m. at Valley Oaks Memorial Park 5600 Lindero Canyon Road, Westlake Village, Ca.

I will miss my long time friend and cousin by marriage. Although we lived miles apart we stayed in close contact with one another by sending letters to one another. I truly have lost a friend. With much sympathy from Doris, Cathy, Billy, Michelle, Kim and Larry
