Raymond Richard Smith, 78, passed away on April 13, 2014 at Kaiser Hospital, Panorama City, CA following surgery. He was born August 18, 1935 in National City, CA.
Ray had served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was employed as a supervisor in the materials department at the General Motors plant in Van Nuys, CA until his retirement. He lived 36 years in Simi Valley, CA before moving to Newhall, CA in 1996 and was an active regular attendee at Valencia United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife Martha Smith of Newhall, CA; daughter Mary Smith of Hawthorne, CA, sons: Mike Smith of Reno, NV, Mark Smith of Newhall, CA and Miles Smith of Katy, TX; stepson Rex Parker of Los Angeles, CA; brother Tom Smith of Round Mountain, CA. He was preceded in death by his first wife Patricia who passed in 1995; his sisters Darlene and Virginia.
Ray was a loving husband, father, brother, and a dear friend. His smile was constant and contagious. He is greatly missed. Memorial Gifts may be sent to Habitat for Humanity (Attn: Mr. Steve Dwyer, Executive Director), 121 S. Rice Avenue, Oxnard, CA 93030.

I met you at GM and we clicked as friends later we introduced you to Martie and she became your wife.her son Rex was treated very well by Ray's children and misses him very much.
