Buzzie saved my life along 2 other students when I took driver’s training class at LCHS in 1971. We on our last of 4 Saturday morning training sessions. We had to drive from LCHS over the Angeles crest highway to reach pear blossom highway. Mountain driving with lots of sharp turns at elevation.
One young lady was driving and lost control of the Station wagon we in. Buzzie was in the passenger seat with his own set of brakes for emergencies. As we lost control the car was speeding for a cliff with no guard rail. Buzzie hit his brakes and the front of the car ended up perched over the cliff. If he didn’t react as quickly as he did we would of been dead.
We were all very scared and the girl who was driving was in tears. Buzzie backed the car up and we all took several minutes to regain our composure.
Thanks very much Buzzie you saved 4 lives because of quick response and reactions!
RIP coach.
