Theda G. Smee, age 88, of Thousand Oaks, passed away on Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, at Royalwood Care Facility in Torrance, Calif., after a yearlong illness. She was born Jan. 4, 1921, in Waurika, Okla., and had been a Ventura County resident for 45 years, coming from South Bay. She was retired, and had worked for Litton Industries for 12 years. She was involved with Ladies of Charity and St. Vincent De Paul, in Thousand Oaks.
She is survived by son, Edward E. Smee Jr.; daughter-in-law, Carole Smee; grandsons, Daniel Smee, and Joseph Smee; uncle, Ben Stewart; and niece, Cheryl Canonge.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, at Pierce Bros. Valley Oaks, with rosary at 7 p.m. the same night. Service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, at St. Paschal Baylon in Thousand Oaks. Burial will be at Assumption Cemetery in Simi Valley, immediately following Mass.
Arrangements are under the direction of Valley Oaks-Griffin Mortuary, Westlake Village.
